Everyone loves the way the Kiwi’s play their footy and what better way to celebrate another great year for them than by looking at their tries of the year.
The folks at Sky Sports New Zealand have selected 10 of the best tries of the 2014 year from all Kiwi matches ranging from All Black Tests to Women’s ITM Cup.
You can’t help but admire the All Blacks and their style of play. They play a free flowing game that seems to emulate the vibrant culture that surrounds the game in the Land of the Long White Cloud. I’ve also felt that one of the reasons they continually breed such good players is that they encourage freedom of expression on the field. Players play with no fear and it shows in their attacking flair. South Africans tend to play a far more conservative game of ‘no mistakes’, where players seem to have a very unimaginative attacking style bred into them. I think it’s easy to teach someone to tackle, but giving them an attacking instinct and spatial awareness is not something any old coach can do.
I’ve watched this video several times over and I can’t get enough of it! My personal favourite is Gareth Anscombe’s try against the Bulls.
